Farewell

I've been enjoying my time blogging here, but sadly, it has to end. I travel often, and am unable to access this website from some of the countries where I often find myself.

But this blog won't come to an end. I've given it to a friend who will keep up with it, and will do a very nice job too. So, stop by and welcome her, and enjoy the new start at this spot.

If you'd like to find me, I'll be at my new place, which I can still access when I am on the road.

Once again, tonight's the night
Rushing to the airport for a late flight
To head to the other side of the globe
To revisit my childhood abode
While many hate the hassle of flights
Can you really imagine the fierce fights
If I refused my family to go and see?
What do you think they'd do to me?
Ain't it grand, then, when international airfares
Don't make me pull out my hair?
The cheap flights across the earth
Give more than their dollars' worth
Of happiness to the likes of me
When the faces of family we get to see
So I won't complain about long hours
Even though before me they loom and tower
Instead I'll be glad I'm not going by sea

Auckland hotels

Before I traveled to New Zealand, I was a bit reluctant to make the trip. I'd always heard it could get a little expensive, so I was pleasantly surprised that my friends and I were able to do the whole trip for a much lower cost than I expected. Accommodations were the one area that we did a fair amount of research, and ended up saving a bunch.

We found that hotels in Auckland were somewhat more expensive than other parts of New Zealand. We were, however, able to locate something good after a fair bit of research, and a little help from some friends. We didn't know aobut cheaperthanhotels.co.nz at the time, or we might have saved a fair bit of time locating affordable Auckland hotels. Looking through the site, I realize that there are more options than we realized when we were there, and that the prices don't have to be horrible.

Finding Auckland Accommodation at the website is a real breeze. It's very easy to navigate through the site, and you can select the place and price you are looking for. That makes locating what you want really easy.

A Weird Book

I've just finished a really good read
But right at the moment what I need
Is a pair of aspirin to pop in the mouth
Because I think my health is heading south
Or perhaps the good read has given a spin
To the stars floating in the area my head's in
That really might just here be the case
Because that book moved at a really odd pace
One moment laughter and hilarity all round
And in the next tears, with a slight sniffling sound
It's just the sort of book that's made for me

Video Camera

So that from time to time you can think of the past
A video camera, then, is just the thing for you
It will bring it all back with a laugh, maybe a tear or two

A Panasonic palm cam will do the trick
And there are several from which you could take a pick
And I think the Panasonic PV-GS320
Will take you as far as you want to go

I use my own video camera all of the time
It helps me remember when I was in my prime
(Not to say that is so very far in the past
But you know how it is -- those days just don't last)

Aluminum in the Kitchen?

I was asked whether or not I would put aluminum cabinets in the kitchen. You know, the sort you normall see in garages, sheds, and other outdoor storage spaces.

My first instinct is to say... probably not. Mostly, that is because I have recently remodeled the kitchen and am not looking to change any time in the next decade or two. (I'm lazy.)

But, honestly, aluminum cabinets in the kitchen are not as odd as it first sounds to me. I have a good friend who has aluminum cabinets in her kitchen, a nice cream color with a small floral print. They are very practical, because no matter how wet they get, there's not rust or rot. And, they really do look good.

I think if I were to decide to go with aluminum cabinets, something like that cream color would be the thing I would do. And, I know I would appreciate the ease of cleaning up that comes with these cabinets. After all, I am lazy.
